Shopping Service Now Provides One-Stop Shopping and Pricing Trend Data For More than 30 Million Products So Consumers Know the Market Value of Any Item

SEATTLE, Wash. – August 14, 2006 – Mpire, Inc., the online shopping service that gets consumers the right product at the right price from the world’s most popular online shopping sites, today announced it has expanded its capabilities to feature products from Amazon.com. The company also announced it has added a plethora of new community shopping features and an enhanced search engine to its site.

For the first time, consumers can search for a product listed on Amazon.com, eBay, Yahoo, Overstock, and Craigslist and view all the listings from the Mpire Web site. Mpire’s unique online shopping service is free and can be found at www.mpire.com.

“By adding Amazon.com, we are enabling consumers to search more than 30 million product listings from across the Internet to determine the best price for items and identify a product’s true value in the marketplace,” explained Matt Hulett, chairman and CEO of Mpire. “In addition, our community features ensure that shopping is no longer a solitary experience. Consumers now will be able to more easily share their opinions about products and prices to make informed purchase decisions.”

The popularity of online shopping destinations is exploding, but sorting through multiple sites and listings to find the best deal is often time consuming and confusing for consumers. Mpire’s objective is to put the power back in the hands of consumers and provide them with the information needed to find the right product, at the right price.

“We are pleased to see Mpire using the product data and shopping features we expose through Amazon Web Services to create such an innovative shopping experience for its customers,” said Steve Rabuchin, Director of Developer Relations, Amazon Web Services.

New Community-Powered Shopping Capabilities
The new community-powered shopping capabilities being unveiled by Mpire today include:

Mpire is using the E-Commerce Service from Amazon Web Services to integrate products and product data from Amazon.com into their site. Mpire users who click on a product offered by Amazon.com will be linked directly to Amazon.com where they can complete their purchase.

“Online shopping is moving to the next level,” explained Allen Weiner, research director, Gartner, Inc. “I believe consumers want the ability to add their own annotations to product listings. It is now easy for individuals to add explanatory, complimentary or critical comments about products, which will be invaluable to the individual trying to make a decision about a particular purchase.”

An Improved Proprietary Search Engine
Another significant enhancement to the Mpire service includes a new search engine. This allows users to locate items quickly and easily on their first search. For instance, today when one searches Google using the terms iPod Nano, it returns about 97 million results. The first two pages are dominated by accessories and other items which may or may not be relevant to a user. With Mpire, when one enters iPod Nano, the solution returns 2,300 entries and every single one of those is an iPod Nano that is for sale.
