Director of Ad Sales

Join the WidgetBucks Team, one of Seattle’s fastest growing companies, in this Director, Online Advertising role. We are looking for an experienced online advertising sales professional who is very motivated and excited about working for a start-up in the fast-paced online advertising industry. This person will be responsible for maximizing revenue growth and expanding relationships with the industry's top advertising networks.

Responsibilities
  • Manage all facets of the sales cycle including prospecting, negotiating, and closing
  • Maximize revenue growth with top advertisers and networks
  • Engage agency and ad network decision makers at all levels
  • Conduct detailed needs assessments
  • Plan, prepare and execute high impact meetings with prospects and clients
  • Identify and develop a strong understanding of client's core objectives and challenges
  • Develop winning selling strategies and proposals
  • Accurately forecast revenue growth
  • Source campaigns for WidgetBucks global publisher clients by building and expanding relationships with the industry's top advertising networks
Requirements
  • Minimum 7-9 years online advertising sales, either for an ad network or large branded publisher
  • Strong understanding of industry trends, technologies and pricing models
  • Excellent understanding of ad network dynamics and campaign buying and planning
  • Strong knowledge of ad campaign metrics and analysis
  • Superior skills in all facets of the sales cycle including prospecting, negotiating, and the ability to sell based on value not price
  • Understanding of audience profiles, online ad targeting, and campaign optimization
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ambition, high energy and the will to succeed
  • Motivated to work in a fast-paced, fun environment
  • Strong desire to work in a team setting
  • BA/BS required

Java Developer: Platform Group

A Platform Group Java Developer is one whose primary language is Java. This person possesses a passion for object-orientated design and appreciates Java as a vehicle for delivering a solid language on which to build professional-grade applications.

Essential Functions
  • Participate in the design and implementation of the next-generation Mpire server-side platform, data layer, core APIs, and application code.
  • Document assigned projects as formal design documents and UML diagrams.
  • Document code modules using JavaDoc.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and balance workload according to priorities.
  • Proactive in seeking projects and responsibilities.
  • Evaluate proposed designs for technical feasibility.
Technical Skills
  • Java programming language expertise with 3+ years professional experience.
  • Writing Java Servlet web-applications hosted with the Resin or Tomcat servlet containers.
  • Familiarity with the Velocity template engine.
  • Familiarity with the Tomcat application server.
  • Familiarity with the memcached and other caching solutions.
  • Ability to write thread-safe and low-level network code.
  • Ability to write XML parsing code using SAX and DOM.
  • Working knowledge of relational databases and SQL, specifically MySQL.
  • Ability to thoroughly and effectively unit test work.
  • Basic understanding of classic design patterns.
  • 3+ Years experience in Linux/Unix platforms.
  • Knowledge of Trac/Subversion (or other version control system).

We are seeking a Java Developer to help grow our next-generation intelligent ad serving platform. This position is initially on a contract basis for 1-3 months. At the end of the contract we will likely grant full-time employment which comes with health insurance, an equity stake in our company, and other benefits. Office location is in the Seattle/Lake Union area.


Expert Web Developer

This person has a passion for front end code and interface design. HTML, DHTML, JavaScript, and CSS technologies (AJAX methodology) are utilized to support interface design efforts.

Essential Functions
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and balance workload according to priorities
  • Proactive in seeking projects and responsibilities
  • Act as liaison between Design and Development to find effective solutions and ensure accurate implementation of specified design and functionality
  • Review requirements and design mockups to provide accurate estimates for delivery of work
  • Evaluate proposed designs for technical feasibility
  • Make technology recommendations for optimal construction, maintenance and performance
  • Maintain flexibility to assist with special projects, as needed.
  • Stay abreast of the latest developments in internet technologies
Secondary Functions
  • Contribute to documentation of team standards and processes
  • Ability to lead front end development efforts for a project and provide technical direction to other members of team
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Expert level hand-coding with cross-browser/platform HTML 3.2 and up
  • Expert proficiency with cross-browser/platform CSS, DHTML, and JavaScript
  • Advanced facility with relational databases, i.e. MySQL
  • Ability to thoroughly and effectively unit test work
  • Knowledge of Trac/Subversion (or other version control system)
  • Literate in Windows and Linux/Unix platforms
  • Understanding of Macromedia Flash and Flex
  • High attention to detail and ability to work and manage files in an extremely organized manner

  • 4+ years integration experience in a software development, interactive agency, design firm or web publishing environment

We are seeking an expert level Web Developer to work with us initially on a contract basis for 1-3 months. Flash Developer/Designer

Seeking a Flash Developer with solid web graphics design experience. You will see your hard work showcased on the home page of the some of the web's top 10 most popular /trafficked websites! Join a small startup team that has just closed some big deals with major retail and search engine sites and needs to ramp up graphics and Flash production!

We are looking for a contract-to-permanent Flash Developer/Designer to continue to push the envelope on UI design and creating unique flash-based web solutions for our fast-paced startup. The ideal candidate is able to combine artistic design with solid technical web coding skills. Candidates must have 3+ years of Flash and Photoshop experience and be fluent in Actionscript, HMTL, CSS and Javascript.

Qualifications and Requirements
  • Advanced working knowledge of Flash 8.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Actionscript 2.0 (AS3 a plus).
  • Advanced working knowledge of Photoshop, HTML, CSS, XML, ASP, Javascript.
  • Graphics design education or applied experience required.
  • Experience with Flex and Apollo a plus.
  • Familiarity with XML processing and REST API integration into Flash a plus.
